justfly.ing does not require an account, does not ask you to enter personal information, does not display ads, and does not maintain a database of your personal information. With your permission, it uses your location while you use the app to retrieve local temperature information. Some information is processed by Apple and Open-Meteo as described below.
Who we are
justfly.ing (the “App”) is an aviation application operated by MakersNJ LLC, a company based in New Jersey, United States (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This policy describes information handling in the justfly.ing iOS app. It does not automatically apply to other MakersNJ ventures.
Information and location
You can use the App without creating an account or providing your name, email address, pilot certificate details, or other personal information. We do not maintain user profiles or a backend database of personal information.
With your permission, the App accesses your device’s location only while you are using the App to determine the local temperature. Location access is optional and controlled through your device’s settings. We do not use location for advertising or continuous background tracking, and we do not store a history of your locations on our servers.
Open-Meteo weather requests
To obtain local temperature information, the App sends latitude and longitude coordinates to the Open-Meteo weather API. Open-Meteo may receive technical information associated with requests, such as an IP address, and may keep server logs containing coordinates for troubleshooting. Open-Meteo states that its API log files are deleted after 90 days. Open-Meteo handles this information under its own terms and privacy information.
Apple analytics, crash reporting, and donations
The App uses Apple’s App Analytics and crash-reporting capabilities. Depending on your Apple device and privacy settings, Apple may process app usage, performance, diagnostic, or crash information. We may access reports that Apple makes available to developers to understand app reliability and improve the App. Apple controls its collection and handling of this information under its own privacy terms and settings.
Optional donations are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. We do not receive your payment card number or directly identifying donor information from these transactions. Apple may process payment and transaction details and provide us with transaction records and aggregated financial reporting.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertising networks. We use the services described above to provide temperature information, app diagnostics, and optional donations. Because we do not maintain user accounts or a personal-information database, we do not retain account profiles or location histories on our servers. Apple and Open-Meteo may retain information according to their own policies.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message and may keep correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage our operations, or meet legal obligations.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can disable the App’s location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Some local-temperature features may not work without location access. You can also manage eligible analytics-sharing preferences through your Apple device settings. You may contact us at the address below with questions about information we hold or to request access or deletion where applicable. Because we do not operate user accounts or a personal-information database, we may have no app-user records to retrieve or delete.
Security
We aim to limit the information the App handles to what is needed for its features. Communications with external services use standard network protections where supported. No online service or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children's privacy
The App is intended for pilots and aviation enthusiasts and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if our features, service providers, or practices change. We will publish the revised policy here with an updated effective date.
